Tiruchirappalli District Sozhiya Vellalar Sangam was founded in 1944 by the late Dr. G. Viswanatham Pillai and eminent leaders, our association was started with the objectives of making our society progress in all spheres, striving for the educational upliftment of the students of our society and raising the standard of living by providing financial assistance to the poor children of our society. Under the leadership of Dr. V. Jayapal with sincere efforts, our race was included in the list of backward classes by the Tamil Nadu government. Educational institutions were started in Trichy and Musiri during his time and have been functioning well till date. The Marriage Information Centre was started in 1985 by the District Association for the People of Our Nation. The records were initially recorded by hand. In 2001, Under the supervision of Dr. R. Vasudevan, all the horoscopes were recorded through a computer and the appropriate horoscope, horoscope taking and photo viewing were being done immediately. And the milestone wedding mangala meet program is going well even today, once every three months. With this, at least 100 weddings come together as a good opportunity for the bride and groom to meet and talk. Current President of the Society is Dr.V J. Senthil.
